An audio fairy tale. Tops and Roots. A Russian folk tale.
A peasant and a bear became friends. So they decided to sow turnips together.
They sowed and began to negotiate over who would take what. The peasant said:
"I'll take the roots, and you, Mishka, can get the tops."
Their turnips grew well. They harvested the crop.
The peasant took the roots and gave the tops to Misha.
The bear saw he'd lost. He received only leaves and said to the peasant:
"You fooled me, my friend. Now, next time we sow, you won't fool me like that."
The next year, the peasant said to the bear:
"Come on, Misha, let's sow together again."
"Come on, but this time you take the tops, and give me the roots," Misha agreed.
"Okay!" "The man said. "Let it be your way."
And they sowed the wheat. A good harvest followed. The man took the tops for himself and gave Misha the roots.
The man threshed the wheat, ground flour, baked pies, but the bear was left with nothing. He sat over a pile of dry stalks.
From then on, the bear and the man stopped being friends.
