Disabling Windows 7 Updates

In the Update Center on the left, select "Change settings" and, instead of "Install updates automatically," select "Never check for updates." Uncheck "Get recommended updates the same way I get important updates."

Select "Services" from the list. Find the Windows Update service in the window and double-click it. Set the Startup type to Disabled. Click the Stop button.
