Known as “The Village Potter,” Roberto Lugo is a ceramicist, social activist, poet and educator. Lugo’s works reimagine traditional European and Asian ceramics, adding a 21st-century street sensibility. His exhibit at Grounds for Sculpture features large-scale vessels, from 3 to 20 feet. Lugo says the installation speaks to community—both the village of people who helped him succeed and how the little things we do to support others can make a huge difference.
