Discussing Zakk Wylde TECHNIQUE in "Sold My Soul" Solo (Video Exchange)

We talk about the fast parts in the solo, how Zakk achieves such speed, accuracy and endurance. The main insights of this video:
1) Zakk most certainly plays from his elbow, the forearm is locked with the wrist and fingers, slightly rotated outside to keep the 2 notes per string diagonal to the strings plane.
2) On the bottom strings (the thinner E,B,G) he is using the fingers on guitar body to control the picking depth, then on the upper string (the thicker D,A,E) you can put the palm of your hand on the strings, near the bridge, then slide it on the meaty part to maintain picking depth as well (this controls the dynamics and mutes noisy strings).
