Bait Ball in Baja California, Mexico
Bait balls are really my favorite underwater thing. They are so beautiful and dynamic, no two are the same. This is a school of sardines that have taken to the shallower waters off of La Paz to minimize the predatory fish coming up from underneath them. Youcan ctill see the predators below but they don't have enough room to ge tthe speed they need to make a good attack, thus the baitball in shallow water offers a great means of protection for the sardines.
