We visit the ancient city of Etowah and discuss the Mississippian Culture that dominated Eastern North America before European arrival.

Notes: Etowah is located in Cartersville, Georgia and Cahokia in Illinois. Hernando De Soto and his Conquistadors visited Etowah in 1540 AD.
Conspiracy Check: The mounds of the Mississippian culture were not built by either the Mayans or the Aztecs. Nor are these people the descendants of the meso-Americans. Mounds are very common in many cultures and do not suggest Meso-American influence. The art style of some of the copper playing and depiction of Mississippian deities does bare some resemblance to the depiction of Aztec deities. That could mean they these two cultures were in contact but there is no evidence to support this conclusion.
