Cutting Foam Wing using Hotwire is a very useful and easy technique to cut airfoils of your choice. In this video, I just showed how I made my hotwire cutter. Before cutting the foam you should cut a template of the airfoil you want and then you can attach airfoils templates to the foam and cut it accordingly
For this build I just took three wooden pieces and assembled them as shown in the video, at one end I tied the spring and on the other end, I tied the nichrome wire to the hooks. The spring keeps the nichrome wire tensioned and also absorbs the expansion of the nichrome wire upon heating. I used a 12V power supply to power it, you can use any power source you have.
