Goodnight
Shot at home in early May of 2020 at the start of the Covid pandemic. Daughter Julia Graff added violin from her home studio in North Vancouver, Kirby Barber added bass from Penticton, and Cindy Fairbank snuck into my basement studio to play the Steinway. When I first heard their contributions it made me miss playing with them SO MUCH! There are ways to get music out in these times, but playing together is what I miss the most. I wrote this as a love song, and an apology, to our miraculous planet. It started out a little darker ("Goodbye Beautiful World") as something I might say on my way out the door, but I reeled it in closer to the lullaby feel of the music and an earnest expression of hope.
