THE BACK STORY: This record was supposed to be released in 2020 in the early part of the pandemic, but we decided to wait a while. During that time, one of my dear friends, Steve Broermann got a devastating prognosis from his doctor, that he only had a couple of months to live. I wanted him to hear the new CD, since he was a huge music lover and had been a fan of my music for years. I asked him if he’d help me choose the first single, and he chose “Burned”. I had suggested a couple of other songs, but no matter what I said, he always went back to “Burned”. We talked on the phone several times after that, about music, and about life. And though he was dealing with life and death, he always found a way to lift me up, and encourage me.
We lost Steve a few weeks after he chose this song. I hope you enjoy it as much as he did…
