Replacing the valve stem seals without removing the KAMAZ cylinder head
Hi, I'm sharing a life hack on how to install valve stem seals on an old KAMAZ.
It's been over three months since I installed the valve stem seals, and here's what I've noticed: the oil level is stable—I haven't had to top it up even once. When everything was as specified and there were no valve stem seals on the exhaust valves, I topped it up every two weeks, 1.5-2 liters. As you can see, it's a very noticeable improvement. I also adjusted the valves. I discovered that the rocker arm stud on one cylinder head had stretched its threads. The rocker arm assembly was held on by a single stud. I had a spare cylinder head, so I threw it in for repairs. I was really hoping to eliminate the smoke from the exhaust. Logically, the smoke should have decreased or completely disappeared, but it still continues to pour out...
Currently, I'm trying to eliminate the smoke as well—but that's another story!
