I recently picked up a Sigma 85 1.4. However every time I use the AF paired to my Nikon D850...all my images confirm focus thru the eye piece but fail to accurately focus on the area I'm locking onto. For example, doing headshots I focus on the eye of my subject, without them or myself moving I snap the shot and at 1.4 the nose is in focus but the eyes are soft and fallout of crisp focus. But wait, why is the nose sharp but not the eyes? I swear i focused on the eyes. Sound like problem you've encountered? Well don't be alarmed, it's just a simple case of an irritating back focus issue. Here is a short guide on what, why and how to fix it.
