How I get a job as a chef?
#1 Job title: Versatile employee
Contract: CDI (long term)
Main job: cook, clean and serve (basically everything)
Working hours: 10hrs:day (6/7)
Salary rate: Minimum wage (SMIC)
Pros:
CDI contract means you can work indefinite until you dies without getting fired
With CDI contract, you can borrow loan from the bank
Build stability in your career
You can eat anything you want in a restaurant (it will deduce from your salary)
Cons:
CDI offers lower salary rate than CDD type
This restaurant is understaffed, it has 4 employees instead of 8 therefore you must work double
Working 2 shifts a day (Lunch+dinner), 4 hours break in between
1/6 day no pay means you will work 10 extra hours without being paid
You are forced to take a vacation in November, means you can’t make a decision on your vacation
Why did I quit?
Kitchen is underground, basically you will see no sun, no light for the rest of your working carrer
Poor working environment, Colleges are closed minded, judgmental mind, illiterate, and full of toxic environment
This type of restaurant does not fit me (fast-food/chain)
I can’t stand toxic people
I don’t need CDI, I need time and vacation 😝
