How to cast spells (dark and ancient magic) in Hogwarts Legacy.

Casting spells is an essential ability for any Witch or Wizard playing Hogwarts Legacy. Spells can be selected from the spell diamond on the bottom right-hand side of Hogwarts Legacy UI. Cast a spell by holding your right trigger and pressing the corresponding spell button.
Essential spells in Hogwarts Legacy are spells that are used for specific circumstances (Revelio for revealing Hogwarts Lore pages for example) and can be activated by selecting left on the D-pad.
There are 20+ spells to unlock in Hogwarts Legacy and all of them can be assigned a slot in the spell diamond, by selecting right on the D-pad (the grid menu button next to the spell diamond).
Coloured shields (red, yellow, purple and blue) can be broken by using their corresponding spell on the spell diamond.
Red and Yellow attack indicator halos will be displayed above your characters head, indicating an incoming attack. Some incoming attacks can be deflected and countered with spells such as stoopify.
Practice casting spells and combat in the Hogwarts Legacy Crossed Wands dueling club and the Dark Arts Battle arena.
Throughout Hogwarts Legacy you have opportunities to learn and increase your ancient magic ability.
Enemies in Hogwarts Legacy will drop blue ancient magic essence (which only your character can see), your ancient magic meter will be build up over time (two small bars at the bottom right) and be activated by pressing R1 and R2, this will deal a devestating amount of damage or turn them to a chicken. The higher the spell combo, the more ancient magic will be earned.
