This is not a vlog, but merely a test of my Canon 650D and a cheapo AUD$15 lav mic. I'm definitely happy with the step up in quality, but it's a little more intrusive than the simple phone. However, I wasn't impressed with how shakey I kept the footage. That was mostly because I was quite anxious and stressed for brain reasons (silly brains).
Also, I need a TRRS to TRS so I can just go straight into the DSLR instead of having to record audio separately on my phone. Having to start recording on the phone is a pain, but will be useful for some applications, so still a good buy.
Note: the audio isn't as was recorded. I eq'd out the lows, boosted highs and I think notched somewhere in the middle. But all in all it has good range.
