Kurtalan Ekspres - Dönence | Demo (1980) remastered
Barış Manço was receiving treatment for jaundice at a hospital in London, while the members of Kurtalan Ekspres were immersed in a jam session back in Istanbul.
During one of their routine rehearsals, towards the end of the session, Celal Güven was engrossed in playing his glockenspiel when he stumbled upon a mesmerizing riff. Recognizing the immense potential of this newfound melody, he eagerly shared it with the rest of the band. Inspired by its allure, the other members encouraged Celal to repeat the riff, and together, they embarked on a captivating improvisation.
And thus, from this serendipitous discovery, the unique composition known as "Dönence" was born.
