No Defroster or Floor Air? Honda Civic Mode Actuator Repair (Step-by-Step)
Is your car's HVAC airflow not coming out the correct vent? Is it stuck on one setting? If your defroster isn't working, or you can't switch air to the floor or window, you likely have a bad Mode Motor Actuator. This is the part that controls what vent the air flow comes out of in your HVAC system. A broken Mode Motor Assembly actuator causes air to blow on the floor when you want it on the dash, or vice versa! Air on the floor when you want it on the window to defrost or defog the window. This is a common problem on an 8th generation Honda Civic and can be fixed as a DIY job. In this video I'll walk you through the steps to fix your air flow problem by diagnosing and replacing the Mode Motor Assembly.
