MALTA | My 20 TOP & FLOP tips for your perfect Malta holiday
Spring or fall is the best time to visit Malta: It's warm, sunny, and, thanks to the off-season, less touristy. We were in Malta for a week in May! There was a lot to see: tangible history of conquests in Valletta and the Three Cities, culture and ancient temples, coastal paths, and green oases.
Starting from the capital, Valletta, we took a bus across the main island. The bus network is very convenient, and we would definitely advise against renting a car. Since Malta is part of the EU, you can easily use your phone and Google bus times. You can conveniently pay with euros and, in many places, cashless. The official languages are Maltese and English.
Direct flights are currently available (as of October 2023) from Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Baden-Baden, and Munich.
