Rust is a survival based PVP game where you must survive against other players, animals, and other circumstances such as weather, starvation, and radiation.

In this video, I show my method for farming 600+ scrap in an hour of playing Rust. This is a weekly server, and this is only my third or fourth day playing on this server. At this point, my best strategy was to put up a fortified base by the Outpost and farm scrap around the Outpost continuously. This method allowed me to learn the entire Tier 1 workbench in 24 hours. It has also allowed me to get the 500 scrap necessary to make a Tier 2 workbench, as well as 600+ scrap to start learning down the Tier 2 tree. It is tedious, but that can be interrupted by meeting random players and trying to become friends, as well as splitting up the scrap farming for regular farming such as mining rocks, metal, and sulfur. You can switch up locations depending on your map as well, but my closest monument was the Launch Site. So I didn’t want to get killed and chose to stay at the Outpost.

There are many other faster methods of farming scrap, such as raiding players and scrapping their materials and components, taking down the attack helicopter and scrapping components, going for loot drops, or farming higher reward locations like the Launch Site. But this method of farming scrap is good for any new player or solo player who wants to relax and learn the blueprints at a more comfortable speed.
