KobéBeats présente son nouveau projet, "Thug Vie (Tribute to Prodigy)", un hommage au rappeur Prodigy, membre du groupe New-Yorkais Mobb Deep décédé en juin dernier.
Partant du constat que Mobb Deep et Prodigy ont indéniablement influencé le rap français des années 90, le beatmaker français a voulu faire le chemin inverse, et utiliser ce même rap français avec lequel il a grandit pour rendre hommage à la légende New-Yorkaise. Il a donc choisis des classiques du rap français, de Booba à La Cliqua en passant par 113 et Sniper, les a retravaillés à sa manière, pour finalement les mélanger avec le phrasé du rappeur de Mobb Deep.
Le projet qui comporte 12 titres, est disponible dès maintenant en téléchargement gratuit sur HauteCulture.com, DatPiff.com et tous les sites spécialisés de mixtapes.

French beatmaker KobeBeats presents his new project, a tribute to New York's own Prodigy. KobeBeats who's working with Reks, Runt Dawg (Gillahouse), Snyplife (D-Block), and numerous french artists, is here presenting his new tape. Starting from the fact that the Queensbridge MC had a huge influence on french rap in the 90s, Kobe revisited french rap classics from the golden era and mixed them with the lyrics of the legendary MC.
The 12 track project was released on december 1st and is NOW available for free download on Datpiff.com and all the usual mixtape platforms.
