Sony FX3 with a Metabones Speedbooster???
Someone asked if using a speed booster might work to mitigate the 10% crop that happens when shooting in 120fps on the Sony FX3. Quick answer: It doesn’t. Speedbooster aside, this test does reveal that when shooting in Active Stabilization mode at 24/30p, switching to 120fps shows next to zero change in the crop.
I accidentally left Active State on with the Sony lens, but it doesn’t affect the test with the speedbooster. It did reveal that the crop for active stabilization is the same as the crop for 120fps. Stabilization is not available in 120fps mode, so if you are using active stabilization and switching between 24/30p and 120p whilst using active stabilization you will see no change in your crop.
