Carrier Infinity- High Pressure Fault Causes
Carrier Infinity is one of my favorite picks when it comes to replacement of HVAC units. In this video a customer called my AC company in Carrollton, TX because their AC was not cooling.
Upon arriving, the Infinity Control had a “system malfunction.” Displaying fault 31 which is an Open High Pressure Switch.
This fault could mean a number problems on the Carrier Infinity system. Whether you have a 24vna6, 24vna9, 24anb1, 24anb7, 24apa7 or other version of Infinity Condensing
unit this could mean you have:
Bad Capacitor (only on 17 seer Infinity)
Dirty Condenser Coil
Bad Condenser Fan Motor or Module
Communication / Wire problem (rare, but possible)
In this video the condenser fan motor was the culprit as the capacitor checked out. Even though this was a rather expensive repair, the customer elected to go with the repair rather than replacing the outdoor unit.
