How To Embarrass Your Kids
*Disclaimer- My "Kids" are actually legally adults, so I am not exploiting them, (Technically speaking 😜) they were part of the making of the video, legally and willingly. It was a fun video to shoot.
As Kids get older, it gets easier to embarrass them. From talking about monistat and the birds and the bees, to reminding them that they are child. Embarrassing kids is easy to do and entertaining!

So, what’s my story?
I’m a mom of 6 kids. Yup, 6! My oldest two were adopted out of foster care and are barely 12 years older than me. My journey as a mom has been met with tears, happiness, anxiety and the most learning of my life. I’ve suffered from PPD and have had anxiety since I was a teen. Along with that, comes it’s own set of struggles but growth.
So why youtube? After my 3rd baby, my anxiety and PPD got so bad, all I wanted was to be removed from the earth so my husband could find a better wife and so my kids would have a better mom than me. I was drowning in impossible expectations that I put on myself and felt so alone. I truly thought that I was the only mom in the world who was behind on cleaning, hadn’t showered in days and lost her cool with her kids and husband. I felt like the biggest failure in life. And I wanted it to end.
It all changed one day when I reached out to a group of moms and gave way to the verbal vomit that was choking me. I told them how I was a screw up and failing miserably and I asked them how they all had it together. Their response was powerful and had changed my view on life and motherhood.
“Me too.”
“I don’t have it all together.”
“That’s crazy because I look at you and think the same thing, how does she do it all?”
“I suffer from depression too.”
“This is the first time I’ve showered all week.”
EMPATHY!
I was met with empathy. I was told that I wasn’t alone. I was told I was normal and I wasn’t crazy! It was so freeing.
So, Why youtube? Social media is the biggest lie and everyone feels like they need to put their best foot forward. It’s created a false image of reality. So, I’m fighting against that. Sure I like to look pretty, but I don’t think it is necessary and I get real raw/messy/imperfect in our family vlogs ➜ / @dadsdontbabysit3200
I may offer tips that I have found along the way. I have opinions and experiences that I share to help others feel like they aren’t alone but I’m not perfect. And I am still figuring out who I am. Youtube for me is a way to be creative while speaking my truth and sharing my story.
