2024 Cowboy Jamboree - Cross Country Men's 8k
Top-ranked Oklahoma State men's cross country took care of business at the 86th annual Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, scoring just 19 points on their way to a 26-point victory over No. 8 New Mexico and a host of other teams.
Brian Musau led the charge for the victorious Cowboys, finishing with a time of 22:55.6, which was nearly 10 seconds faster than the previous 8K course record set by former Cowboy Isai Rodriguez in 2021. Musau beat New Mexico's Habtom Samuel, who is the reigning NCAA cross country runner-up, by eight seconds overall.
Behind Musau and Samuel were four straight Cowboys as Laban Kipkemboi, Denis Kipngetich, Victor Shitsama and Ryan Schoppe placed third-through-sixth on the day to give the Cowboys 19 points as a team. Kipkemboi's time of 23:19.0 ranks fifth in course history and Kipngetich's time of 23:21.0 is ninth in course history.
