Cuts & Beats From The Archive
Join Cecil McDonald Jr. for a conversation with Columbia College Archivist and Assistant Professor of History, Robert Hanserd, in conjunction with his exhibition, Cuts and Beats. The two will be in dialogue about Jr.’s use of the archive from the Center for Black Music Research in his forthcoming exhibition. They will discuss imagery, music, social dance, minstrelsy, and the implications of reconstruction on black artists in the 19th and 20th centuries.
