𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝?
Watercolor paper, watercolor brushes (e.g. round, size 6), paper towel, a jar of water, 4 watercolor paints: yellow ochre, brown, red, green
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏 (0:05)
Paint the outline of the cone with a light wash of yellow ochre. Just do this intuitively, it doesn't have to precise, and you can always go back in to change the outline.
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟐 (0:27)
Mix yellow ochre with brown and accentuate the bottom of the pines by adding a brush mark.
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟑 (0:43)
Add green thin strokes to the bottom and add a darker layer of green thin trokes to create some dimension.

Pick up dark brown and paint the shadows between the pines in some sort of imperfect fishbone shape. The pine cone comes to life!

To finish it, add some branches with berries on top of the green needles.
That's it! Give your postcard away or frame your painting!
