Finally acquainting myself with Jane Austen was an experience. I do like her writing, and I did enjoy the lighthearted fun and wit in it. Still, I found myself reading these stories as a kind of gender horror, where if you fail at the aristocratic regency marriage market you just ...fall off the face of the earth or something equivalent. The horror in that premise really undercut the fun for me, and that inspired me to have some fun with this video.

I know a lot of you out there adore Jane Austen, a lot of you have mixed feelings, and a lot of you probably got interested in historical clothes through loving period dramas, and I'm not here to yuck your yum (uh, consanguinity aside. I'll yuck that). The only way for me to get in on the frilly regency fun without like... fracturing my sense of self was to be a little silly about it. To any Janeites: I hope you enjoy witnessing my struggles as I come over to the dark side. ❤️

Also I just want to say thanks so much to everyone who has watched my videos and left sweet comments in the last few months. I'm super bad at responding to them because I'm bad at socializing on the internet, but they totally make my day! Thank you!
