In this video we'll explore risk factors for addiction. We will introduce the concept of risk factors for disease generally, and the following risk factors for addiction: family history of addiction, mental health struggles, impulse control problems, addictive personality, having experienced trauma, lack of school connectednesss. We will also discuss how family conflict can be a risk factor for addiction, and how early substance use greatly increases the likelihood of a substance use disorder.
