When borders are closed and your soul craves adventure, you have to spontaneously change your plans.
It so happened that we ended up on Kunashir thanks to the pandemic. Our 2020 trip was canceled, and in May 2021, the borders still hadn't reopened. We wanted to go somewhere nearby on a budget. We travel every two years, have relatives on Kunashir, and meet a local hiking enthusiast who promises to show you the beauty for a nominal fee. ))))) And so, a completely budget-friendly vacation was born. We submitted the documents for a pass, bought tickets, arranged with a guide, and off we went.
