Update*** I found the command for the menu on the keyboard if you hold the "Fn" key and press the "right Ctrl" it will bring up the menu! Also to go back on the web browser hold alt and hit the back arrow! This video shows you the capability of the Amazon Fire TV when you sideload FREE apps that are made for the android platform. As this device is equipped with Android Software you can use most the apps.

Things you will need:

Logitech K400 Keyboard with touch pad. You will need to plug the usb receiver into the back of the amazon fire TV. I would wait for it to be on sale I got it for $20.00 at Best Buy.

For application files (.apk) you can search the web and for the browser you can go to http://sideloadfiretv.com/ where they will provide you with flash and firefox.
