Fourth album from the Canadian Skull Fist who return to us with the album "Paid in full."
SKULL FIST is found as a trio since it is structured around Zach Slaughter (vocals, guitar), Casey Guest (bass) and JJ Tartaglia (drums).
The group is signed to Atomic Fire.
“Paid In Full” is an album balanced between speedy and mid-tempo pieces. As for singer Zach Slaughter, he goes less high in the treble than in the past, modulating his voice more.
SKULL FIST is able to throw us heavy/speed tracks such as “Warrior Of The North”, “For The Last Time”, “Long Live The Fist”.
“Blackout”, which has nothing to do with the SCORPIONS classic, is a track with an intro on acoustic guitar before veering towards a more muscular rhythm.
“Crush Kill Destroy” which appears to be the group’s best discovery thanks to its fierce riffs, its simple chorus and the acceleration of the rhythm after the solo which reinforces the furious side of the piece.
Overall, Paid In Full appears to be better than Way Of The Road, but below the group's first two albums.
This is an 80's revival album and this album is good but I think the band has the potential to make a better album next time.
