Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor, abbreviated as CMOS, is a technology for constructing integrated circuits. CMOS technology is used in microprocessors, microcontrollers, static RAM, and other digital logic circuits. In 1963, while working for Fairchild Semiconductor, Frank Wanlass patented CMOS.
