False Balance is a phenomenon that criticizes the alleged misrepresentation of a balance between opinion and fact in the media. Two examples: On a talk show, someone claimed "the earth is flat," despite the fact that the earth was proved to be spherical centuries ago. Or in an interview a person expresses the opinion: “Everything about climate change is made up”; although numerous studies provide evidence to the contrary. In this explanatory video we explain more about False Balance.
