transience and introspection ⁽ᵛˡᵒᵍ⁾
Here’s an accumulation of good moments in June :·)
This month has been ambivalent for me in the sense that here in Denmark, the weather has been nice, I’m working on my exam and everything is moving slowly and quietly - but at the same time, I have been following the events in the US very closely and working on translating all the new and helpful ressourcers to reflection and action in my own context (again, not America). I've felt the urgency but it has been separated from my physical reality. While it cannot be seen in this video necessary, this whole month has been defined by looking inwards at my own biases, my own privileges, and my own responsibilities and possibilities - being online, watching movies, expanding who I follow on IG and on here to include Black voices and experiences more than before, contacting my school about considering a mandatory antiracism curriculum, etc.
I’m sharing this because one of the questions I’ve had for myself was how to use my small platform here, how to document my life the way I do (very selectively, my ‘vlogs’ are a lot more about atmosphere than a chronological walkthrough of my life and all its events) in a way that at the very least doesn’t make noise and take up space from others. It’s always a balance - I want to advocate, but I also need to be humble in that it’s not always my place. I want to be vocal, but not speak over others. And I need to constantly evaluate myself in the context I’m in, self-reflective and open to making mistakes and being corrected.

Also: I want to just state that at the demonstration I attended, we were asked to document and share it, because the Danish media have been twisting the statements of the spokesperson for these demos and painting them in a negative light. I know the documentation of protests in the US is a different + complex matter so I wanted to say this :-)
