The most brilliant moment of eastern cinematography. The Soviet response to "2001 A Space Odyssey" comes 4 years later with Solaris. A poetic science fiction, focused on the inner and unconscious experience. Tarkovsky combines Bach sounds, Bruegel paintings, and even Cervantes (the book that "flies" is Don Quixote) and takes them into space, in gravity 0, to Solaris, the ocean that materializes memories.
