Today, we're replacing the backlight on a 55" Samsung TV. The specific model number we're doing in this video is UN55NU6900. For our TV, we have an edge-lit model with two LED strips. One one of the strips, there's an LED or two that are failing. They aren't failed all the time, but flicker on and off periodically. We're going to tackle this problem by replacing both LED strips to ensure that the TV is good to go for the future, as the rest of the TV works great!
These steps can be used for almost any backlight LCD TV (either edge lit or full array). You may just need to remove a set of screws holding a panel cover in place, etc. But, hopefully these steps should give you enough guidance to tackle the project on your own TV!
Be aware, however, that when doing any work on electronics, there's always a risk of electrocution if you're not careful and don't take the proper precautions. If you don't feel comfortable doing the repair, please contact a professional who can do the work safely.
Thanks for watching!
