Windows 10: USB Power Settings that may cause a USB device to misbehave
If you have USB devices that periodically stop responding, this video shows you how to check your power settings to make sure Windows isn't putting them to sleep by cutting power to them. This was a tip I passed along to someone during a series of troubleshooting steps that solve the problem of their USB microphone cutting out while recording.
