Isra Ezad is an experimental igneous petrologist with an interest in the composition and melting behaviour of the mantle. Her recent work has focussed on the role volatile elements play in the deep Earth, and how these volatiles can ultimately affect the mobility of base and precious metals during mantle melting. Isra has applied these results to magmatic sulfide deposits with the aim to broaden our understanding of processes that lead to ore genesis from diverse mantle components.
