So which in is your favorite ?
As you can see, except frame rates and resolution gopro didn't really evolved over the years, I would say that all gopros with protune enabled and footage stabilized with reelsteady GO, can look the same on youtube with right settings, ND fitlers, export settings...

If you want as compact or light action camera as possible, then Sessoin 5 is the way to go.
Session 5 also seems to perform the best in low light situations, since it's sensor is the same size as hero6's or 8's but has 2mp less, that means that pixels are bit larger... more light hits the pixels = brighter, less noisy image.
Hero6 is the best overall out of these 3 cameras in my opinion, it's not the Hero 8, because 6 seems to produce more raw, clog looking video (better for postprocessing), it is lighter, smaller, it has swappable lens glass (useful to mount and easily change ND filters). Only things it lacks are 1440p 120fps, 100mb/s bitrate (which isn't significatnly better than 76MB/s I must say) and extra anti-glare lens coating which Hero 8 has.
Hero 8 ? it is slightly bigger and heavier than 6, while having screen of the same size. It doesn't have swappable lens glass, I would rate it's build quality bit worse than hero 6s. Only pros over 6 are 1440p@120fps, max bitrate of 100MB/S and extra anti glare coating on lens (visible at 3:46 ). I don't like what gopro did with the flat color profile either, it seems to increase saturation and contrast compared to flat color profiles on session5 and Hero 6.
*also sorry that Hero 6 has stabilization turned on in 2.7K 30fps clips, unfortunately it turned on after I connected it to the gopro app and didn't notice that it's on till the end of shooting :( Although all clips are cropped by the same amount, dynamic range, sharpness, bitrate and low light performance in still shots are the same...
