GERBER Stake Out Gaphite : the camp tool!
With a Skeletool-style bottle-opening carabiner and a Victorinox-style hook, Gerber seems very ready to rediscover the wire for cutting butter! :)
The knife is very sharp. The saw is ridiculously too small. The hook is painful to deploy. Scissors are very uncomfortable. The file (or ferro rod striker) is spoiled by the protrusions of the scissors and the knife. The awl, scissors and saw are not lockable but hold very well. And, cherry on the cake, the Stake Out is sold at a crazy price (like all the models recently offered by Gerber): an American incentive to buy in China better designed and cheaper products?
Avec un mousqueton décapsuleur à la Skeletool et un crochet à la Victorinox, Gerber semble très prêt de redécouvrir le fil à couper le beurre ! :)
Le couteau est très bien aiguisé. La scie est ridiculement trop petite. Le crochet est pénible à déployer. Les ciseaux sont très inconfortables. La lime (ou grattoir pour allume-feu) est gâchée par les protubérances des ciseaux et du couteau. Le poinçon, les ciseaux et la scie ne sont pas verrouillables mais sont très bien tenus. Et, cerise sur le gâteau, le Stake Out est vendu à un prix délirant (comme tous les modèles récemment proposés par Gerber) : une incitation américaine à acheter en Chine des produits mieux conçus et moins chers ?
