Why Preview? Because I really haven't had them long enough to fully 'review' but what I've seen so far, I like!
The M-Audio BX5 D3 studio monitors are M-Audio's latest in the 5" range. They feature a new and improved waveguide for the high frequencies and deliver the same, exceptional performance that you would expect from M-Audio.
Why no sound samples? Honestly, what's the point? I would never be able to recreate exactly what I can hear through a video that is played out in your home, so it's pointless trying. Do try to get to a store though so you can hear the quality for yourself!
I'm sure there will be plenty of music/sound professionals reviewing these soon but for now, for my video work at least they have been excellent.
General, everyday listening to music has been fantastic as well but they can be quite bass-heavy. I am using a DAC but the sound seems crystal clear and I haven't had any problems with pops or bangs (yet) but I am also conscious, I haven't given them much time to bed in.
