RYGCBMK◯ (rig-bim-ko) is abstract procedural animation with a beat; a two minute detour to a little place full of brightly coloured dancing shapes and merry electronic music. I hope you enjoy your stay.

The visual part of the presentation is made up of 46 discontinuous segments of animation, each lasting for exactly one bar (four beats). For each shot in RYGCBMK◯, a computable procedure was constructed using a node-based visual programming system called Animation Nodes, created for Blender by Jacques Lucke. The procedure was then executed for each frame to animate the size, position and rotation of balls and toruses. No automatic sound-to-animation-curve process ("sound visualiser") was used.

The music was created and sequenced entirely on the Korg ARP Odyssey and the Make Noise 0-Coast using the Arturia Beatstep Pro and Arturia Keystep. The recordings were then arranged, mixed and mastered in REAPER. No MIDI or DAW-based sequencing was used at any time.
