Xwélmexw Hakw’eles: “Remembering Ourselves”—Transformation and Other Indigenous Governing Principles
At this event, Sto:lo Scholar Dr. Wenona Hall shared her PhD research findings on Indigenous Governing Principles. Following the lecture, Dr. Hall sat in conversation with Charlene Aleck, a member of səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation) and Councillor, and Rueben George, a member of səlilwətaɬ, internationally known activist, and author. SFU President Joy Johnson joined as a moderator, and this event was part of the President's Faculty Lectures 2023/2024.
The event was broadcasted on March 12, 2024, from the səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation) community on their ancestral, unceded, traditional territory.
