We caught a skunk!
Every morning when we went outside we would see a bunch of little holes dug into our yard so we wanted to see what was digging. This happened before and we had previously caught an opossum. This time the holes were dug near our chicken coop so we set the live trap again and this time we caught a skunk!
In this video well show how we were able to safely release it without getting sprayed. Essentially, the steps are:
1. Remain calm and continuously talk to the skunk so as not to scare it.
2. Cover the cage to help keep the animal calm and also to keep it from spraying you.
3. Clamp the trap door open so that the skunk can leave when it wants to.
I hope this helps if you're ever in the situation where you've caught, but need to release a skunk!
