NYC mayor calls for state, federal governments to ‘step up’ and help with asylum seekers
Speaking on Wednesday morning, New York Mayor Eric Adams urged the state and federal governments to “step up” to help with the tens of thousands asylum seekers who have come to the city. Adams said the city will continue to accommodate asylum seekers, but it could cost $12 billion over three fiscal years.
