Everything worked fine except for the supports and rails that broke with every step.
A) the .dwg format itself does not preserve the Bezier curves as curves but splits them instead.
B) Revit doesn't recognize Bezier curves, that's why it slows it down.
the side curves were "continuous" when I exported, but when the geometry was imported into Revit, only the rise curves (which are arcs) survived. the same thing happened when I opened the .dwg with AutoCAD.
