The police chased the man for several miles after he fled the scene. A sheriff's office helicopter was dispatched to the scene, greatly reducing the suspect's chances of escape. The pickup truck ended up crashing into a car and then into a pedestrian bridge. The driver was taken into custody and charged with fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
