A story of the Gifted Music School.
Gifted Music School builds a brighter future by providing outstanding, comprehensive music education to children of all backgrounds. We are striving to set a national standard in our field. Founded in 2008 by Eugene and Vera Watanabe, the Gifted Music School (GMS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit children’s music school located in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. The school is committed to creating a new standard for music education in the United States. Two divisions feature an expansive curriculum and world-class faculty.
The Gifted Music School Conservatory, as featured, is a full scholarship program for serious and committed music students (ages 6-18). A top level musical training program is part of this program, which include theory, ear training, performance classes, chamber music, and orchestral training. Auditions are currently held once a year in the spring.
The GMS Preparatory Division, the second division, a music program for children ages 3-18 and all skill levels. Lessons are available on piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, flute, bassoon, clarinet, music theory, and chamber music. Limited need based tuition assistance scholarships are available on a limited basis. The GMS Preparatory Division features Utah’s first official school Suzuki String Program featuring certified Suzuki instructors trained at premier music schools.
