Lake Effect Snow Radar Loop January 08 to 11, 2022
Radar reflectivity loop from the KTYX Montague radar. The loop is from 7:01 PM EST 01/08/2022 to 2:04 PM EST 01/11/2022 (or (0001 UTC 01/09/2022 to 1804 UTC 01/11/2022).
The loop shows a storm system move through then a lake effect snow bands develop (around 24 seconds). A persistent snow band produced snow amounts of around 20 inches in some parts of northern Oneida county. As winds became northerly the band moved south and dissipated.
