On November 19, 2024, International Men's Day, the Canadian Centre for Men and Families opened Alberta's first interim house for fathers and children in crisis, with an emphasis on fathers and children escaping domestic abuse and family violence.

This 11 unit building with capacity for up to 44 individuals, combines emergency shelter and longer term transitional housing, for stays of 31 to 90 days. Residents are offered a full suite of wrap-around services, including outreach, counselling, peer support, trauma recovery, personal coaching, legal advice and parenting support programs.

This isn’t just a building. It’s a lifeline. A second chance for fathers fighting to keep their children. A refuge for men who’ve faced unimaginable challenges and turmoil. A beacon of hope for families torn apart by hardship.

This Men’s Interim Housing will provide a safe space for men working to rebuild their lives, providing hope, love and support to all who walk through our doors. This is only possible because of our amazing community of supporters.
