How supermarkets save food
I recently went shopping at my local Edeka and happened to see a lot of heavily discounted products in the refrigerated section. I looked around and saw even more, and I was totally amazed at how much the prices tempted me to buy so many things right away.
For me, this was a great example of how we could sell food much more effectively in supermarkets, ensuring that many of the discounted items actually end up with customers. This would have various advantages and could even lead to less work for supermarket employees, because there would be less waste and, for example, because a more efficient recycling system and higher sales would free up shelf space, saving time when stocking shelves.
